Owain Glyndwr Proclaimed Prince of Wales

On this day in 1400 Owain Glyndwr was proclaimed Prince of Wales.
A 10 year rebellion against English rule in Wales followed. For a time
Owain was successful in uniting the whole of Wales and driving the
English out.

His subsequent defeat and disappearance assured him a place in
Welsh history and legend.
