Jimi
Hendrix and the Welsh National Anthem
Following the sale of a former
recording studio in London an eight track tape has been discovered
which is thought to contain a version of Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau, the
Welsh national anthem, recorded by Jimi Hendrix. The new owner
of
the tape is
currently seeking to establish its authenticity. For more details
follow the link below. To hear the Hendrix track follow this link. Or
this one link ( it
moved ). Discovered: Hendrix's
Welsh anthem?
A more traditional rendering of the anthem can be found here. This recording was made at Cardiff Arms Park . Here is a link to a BBC site which thoughtfully includes a page to assist those learning the lyrics to the anthem. The phonetic approach often works best. For those who are slightly less serious about mastering the pronunciation here is a link to a 'humorous' version.
