The National Museum of American History

When in D.C. don’t forget to drop by the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. You’ll get to see how America became the great country it is today. The museum features artifacts from past wars to present, as well as collections from America’s different contributions to the world. You can even have a taste of different American foods.

Here’s a brief history about the National Museum:

The museum opened in 1964 as the Museum of History and Technology. It was one of the last structures designed by the renowned architectural firm McKim Mead & White. In 1980, the museum was renamed the National Museum of American History to represent its mission of the collection, care, study, and interpretation of objects that reflect the experience of the American people.
